Pongwe Beach Hotel is located near the village of Pongwe on the northeast coast of Zanzibar.
This small British-owned guesthouse enjoys one of the finest locations on the island, a fabulous beach backed by palm trees in a secluded cove.
The lodge itself is simple and unpretentious, with a single large open-sided public area, sixteen rooms in two and three bedroom thatched buildings, a lovely pool up above the lagoon, hammocks and loungers down on the gorgeous beach.
Staff have a reputation for being extremely friendly and efficient, providing levels of service which are more usually associated with much more expensive lodges.
Pongwe Beach Hotel is one of our most popular lodges on the island, it is a real winner, check the superb reviews. Getting rooms is the main issue, we could fill this place five times over in high season. Fortunately we have several of the rooms on allocation, so can often help out even when it appears to be full.
