Michamvi Sunset Bay is located on the Michamvi peninsular on the southeast coast of Zanzibar.
We consider the people of Michamvi Kae Village our partners at the hotel… these folks share their beautiful surrounds with us and our guests, and it is therefore a core value of the business that they truly benefit from the operations. We buy their produce and the mere presence of our visitors means an upliftment of their lives and living standards.
Nonetheless it still remains a pleasant enough place, with a dozen rooms located in two storey blocks around a pool, a thatched restaurant tucked in between and an open-sided bar out over the beach.
The beach itself is very tidal and the sand does not have quite the same fine quality that it does elsewhere on the island. But this is compensated for by the tranquility of the location.
