Dolphin View Paradise is located 2km south of the village of Kizimkazi Mkunguni on the southwest coast of Zanzibar.
This large resort actually opened in late 2009, but still seemed very much a work in progress when we last visited.
Set on a very large and exposed site, the lodge has around twenty very large accommodation units, each housing up to six guests, some with private pools. Public areas are equally cavernous and there is a large jetty projecting out over a small beach.
Every time we visit the weather seems to work against us, the resulting images serving to make the place look even more bleak.
On the plus side, prices here are pretty low. The units are charged at the same rate whether occupied by 2 or 6 people, so larger groups really can get some value.
Otherwise Dolphin View Paradise seems to be a rather peripheral option.
