The Dhow Palace is an old name amongst the Stone Town hotel. Located in the Shanghani area of Zanzibar Stone Town this fairly small hotel is tucked away within the maze of Stone Town streets just a short distance from the harbor front.

The hotel is set around a cool indoor courtyard with a fountain and has just been given a fresh renovation. It is well run and decorated with authentic Zanzibar antiques.

Without the benefit of the sea breeze and views, the Dhow Palace is marginally less expensive than other hotels, but the good rooms are much larger, especially on the second floor, with some beds so tall that they come equipped with steps. The dining room serves only breakfast, notice is required for lunch and dinner.
