BlueBay Beach Resort and Spa is located near the village of Kiwengwa on the northeast coast of Zanzibar.
This large resort facility which has been catering mainly to a British and European market since opening around 2001.
The layout is the usual resort pattern, with a large reception at the top end, banks of rooms down the slopes either side and out through the palm trees, leading to the central pool, bar and restaurant areas and then out onto the beach.
In recent years this part of the coast has become much more heavily developed and is now wall-to-wall resorts.
