AMAANI BUNGALOWS:
Amaan Bungalows is located in the village of Nungwi on the northern tip of Zanzibar.
Set at the heart of the busy west Nungwi area, this lodge has always been best known for its bar and restaurant above the beach.
The rooms have always been rather less attractive and seemed to be particularly so on our last visit, when rumours spoke of an imminent change in ownership and a major redevelopment in the pipeline. West Nungwi looks set to be Zanzibar's firsts high-rise strip.
